Speakeasy is an annual journal published in print and online featuring scholarly articles, reflections, and creative work by English as a foreign language teachers. We offer a place for language teacher-learners to share their experiences, challenges, theories, unique perspectives, and breakthroughs.
The practice of teaching English abroad has been carried on for generations. The experience of EFL teachers is wide and variant, so we welcome work by teachers finding themselves at odds with their pre-formed notions of teaching methods, or those simply looking for a community.
We’ve published over 24 volumes and have now given Speakeasy a digital home. We hope to make the magazine more accessible to those who aren’t in arms-reach of paper editions and also to provide more information to those thinking about submitting to Speakeasy.
